Annelise Mennicke, Ph.D., is a violence prevention researcher, focusing on sexual assault on college campuses and women who are incarcerated. Earning her Ph.D. in social work from Florida State University in 2015, she has an extensive publishing record, which aims to create a world where people live free from violence.
John Stogner, Ph.D. is an associate professor of Criminal Justice and Criminology at UNC Charlotte. Dr. Stogner also holds an appointment as an associate professor of Public Policy and is president of the Southern Criminal Justice Association. His teaching and research generally focuses on substance use with the primary emphasis being novel and emerging drug issues.
John Szmer is a professor of Political Science and Public Policy at UNC Charlotte. He studies the judicial process, with a particular focus on the influence of gender and race.

Shannon E. Reid, Ph.D., is an assistant professor in the Department of Criminal Justice and Criminology at UNC Charlotte. Dr. Reid’s primary research interests center on gangs, juvenile incarceration and peer networks. She received her Ph.D. from the University of California, Irvine.
Susan McCarter, Ph.D., MSW, is an Associate Professor of Social Work at UNC Charlotte. Dr. McCarter’s career began as a juvenile probation officer, inner-city mental health counselor, and policy analyst and advocate in Virginia, where she earned her MSW (Clinical) and her Ph.D.
